At Cruiserath, the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Department coordinates regulatory compliance through sampling and monitoring emissions and employee exposure to chemicals and noise. It provides advice and training on all EHS matters, coordinates risk assessments, generates reports and measures performance, and carries out audits on controls and systems.
The Cruiserath facility operates international standard programmes for Pollution Prevention, Safety assurance, Waste reduction and Energy Conservation. The site has an Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control (IPPC) Licence issued by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). This requires the facility to operate under the most exacting Global environmental controls and emission limits. The EHS Department operates a test Laboratory accredited to International Standard ISO17025, to analyse environmental samples. Operations at the site are inspected by the Health and Safety Authority, who require the facility to regulate its chemical inventory and have in place contingencies to deal with any possible accident or emergency.
